About Scott
As a young photographer, my early aspirations of photo journalism were usurped upon discovering the genius of Irving Penn’s, and the stark simplicity of Helmut Newton’s work. Each mastered the framing and composition of elements, both natural and manmade, in a way that produces a dimension, depth, and richness unlike anything I
have ever seen.
My career instantly changed trajectory towards commercial photography. I spent ten subsequent years in Dallas doing catalogue, corporate, and special-effects work before returning to Philadelphia to open my own studio. Three-dimensional, textured, transportive imagery--through the fusion of what I call “light and look”--soon became my hallmark.
Today, I don’t think in terms old school vs. new school. Analog vs. digital. Authentic vs. altered. I think in terms of producing the perfect shot for your campaign. Period. The kind that captures your customers’ imagination, takes them on a journey, and affects them in the same cosmic way that Penn’s and Helmut’s work did me.
If you share my philosophy, let’s talk...
